Since 1996, the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP) has been serving small- to medium-sized businesses with a focus on producing long-term, sustainable growth for the manufacturing industry. Its staff experience runs the gamut from shop floor to the board room and covers all industry sectors. OMEP strives to provide technological and institutional support for the manufacturing industry in hopes of creating growth both in the U.S. and globally.
Manufacturers have been seeking out different means to decrease costs and increase productivity for decades. Today, new technologies for increasing productivity and energy efficiencies are emerging that promise great gains in process intensification. Using the principles found in modular chemical process intensification (MCPI), developing innovative process intensification involves searching for ways to combine multiple step processes to increase efficiency, specifically focusing on the areas of chemical and commodity processing, natural gas upgrading, and renewable bioproducts.
